PEOPLE living in Jennett's Park and Great Hollands are demanding action after a 'noisy' car-meet took place over the weekend.

Thames Valley Police received complaints from local residents about noise from cars being driven late at night.

A number of people were "drift racing cars" in the two Bracknell estates last weekend, leaving police no choice but to issue Section 59 Police Reform Act warnings

On Tuesday, January 18, officers attended the addresses of the registered owners who were involved in drift racing.

Thames Valley Police said: "As a result of the manner of their driving, drivers were issued Section 59 Police Reform Act warnings. This warning puts a marker on the vehicle and the driver for 12 months.

"If they drive in an anti-social manner within this time, the vehicle they are driving can be seized by police."

Although driving in this manner is considered dangerous by police, the local force said they are "not against car meets taking place."

Adding: "We understand your passion for cars and are aware that not all car enthusiasts drive in this way. We are not against car meets taking place. However, we will take positive action against those that are causing noise nuisance to our community.

"Be considerate to our residents as you would not appreciate it happening on your doorstep."
