Wokingham charity celebrates seven years of employee’s service dedicated to the support and inclusion of elderly in the community.

Jenny Ivory who has worked as the charity’s Activities and Events coordinator for nearly a decade says goodbye to her colleagues after seven years in the role.

Wokingham Link Visiting Scheme is a befriending charity for people of all ages. They link volunteers with people who have similar personalities in want of some company and friendly chat. The majority of those visited are older people who have experienced a loss. It is said that having someone to connect with can restore confidence and a feeling of being wanted.

Wokingham Link Visiting Scheme who have posted their goodbyes on social media said: “So many amazing memories made, and we will miss her so much! Keep in touch Jenny and the door is always open to you.”

Responding to her many messages of well wishes, Jenny added: “Thank you so much everyone for your lovely words, it really means a lot. I will miss everyone A LOT! Thankyou Link for all my lovely gifts and a fantastic seven year.”

The charity is now looking for a befriending & Assessment Officer, and an activities & Events Coordinator to replace Jenny’s position.
