Over the past few years, Bracknell town centre has gone through a major regeneration project. Once loved stores have been closed and the majority of Princess Square and Braccan Walk is in the midst of transforming into a state of the art shopping and entertainment complex.

2021 has seen many developments within the area. This includes the closure of some age-old stores to make way for new outlets.

On February 26, Sainsburys in Princess Square shut it’s doors and has since been replaced with a sports direct.

Sports Direct also includes the brand Evans Cycles which sells clothing and accessories for cyclists.

The demolition of the iconic Bentall’s store in the town centre was arranged and conducted this year to make way for the development of ‘The Deck’.

While many people from the town were sad to see it go, the demolition of Bentalls paves the way for the future of The Lexicon.

A new furniture shop and a bubble-tea bar have opened up shop in Bracknell's Lexicon shopping centre this year.

Also, Yi Fang will be serving fruit and tapioca pearl bubble drinks from its store at its new chic unit on The Avenue. The store re-opened after previously occupying the unit by Patisserie Valerie.

The town centre has been buzzing with new food and beverage businesses popping up throughout 2021.

The most recent new outlets are ‘Gails’ Bakery and Kokaro Sushi takeaway.

Gail’s Bakery, which also has another two Berkshire outlets in Wokingham and Windsor is famous for its delicious pastries and home-made bread. It opened in December in the unit between L’Occitane and Charles Tyrwhitt, and has since become a favourite among Bracknell residents.

More developments are set for Bracknell town centre in the next number of years ahead, including further development of ‘The Deck’. This will include the Botanist cocktail bar and kitchen and the Hollywood Bowl bowling alley, which is currently located in The Point in Bracknell.
