A WOMAN who tried to steal more than £6,000 from the opticians she worked will have to carry out several days worth of unpaid work.

Trisha Patel, of Golders Rise, Hendon, stole £825 from Insight Opticians, based in Princess Square, between February 5 and February 12, 2020.

The 36-year-old then attempted to steal £6,000 from the opticians on February 13, 2020.

She was convicted of the offences at Berkshire Magistrates’ Court four days later on February 17.

Patel then failed to show up for a court hearing at Slough Magistrates’ Court on September 3, 2021.

She was also not present for her sentencing hearing at Reading Magistrates’ Court on December 13.

Here, she was handed a community order for theft by an employee and attempted theft.

The community order requires her to take part in up to 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days.

Patel will also have to carry out 250 hours of unpaid work within the next twelve months.
