More than 1,000 homes could be built in Bracknell very soon across five key areas that would completely change the face of the town.

This year, developers have applied to build some massive developments in Bracknell.

While work cannot begin on them until they are approved by the council’s planning committee, all five are set to be decided in 2022.

If all are given the go ahead, a total of 1,040 homes will be built in the near future and 10 new towers will go up in the town centre.

The biggest of these four plans is the scheme to build 377 flats at the site of the Bracknell Beeches offices, which are located south of the trainline in the town centre.

The plan involves demolishing the seven existing office buildings and replacing them with seven new towers.

A new access would be provided to the station, replacing the current footbridge.

The application was submitted by developers S2 Estates.

Of the 377 flats, 200 would be two-bed, 160 would be one-bed and 17 would be studio apartments.

Southern Homes Ownership has applied to build 226 homes on the outskirts of Bracknell.

The development would be built south of Beaufort Park office building, which will be demolished and replaced with 68 homes after approval was narrowly granted in November.

Southern Home Ownership’s scheme is bound by a defunct oil pipeline to the south, and would involve cutting down trees to the south of the office building to make way for the new builds.

Of the 226 homes applied for, 79 would be two bedroom, 94 would be three-bedroom  53 would be four-bedroom, and up to 50 per cent of the development would be reserved for affordable housing.

Three of the new towers could be coming to Market Street in Bracknell town centre if plans are approved.

The project involves building the towers on the old Alder Valley bus depot site which has been dormant since the 1980s.

Two of the towers would be residential, with a fourth closest to the council’s offices at Time Square being used for offices.

Block A, the tallest, will be 17 storeys, Block B will have 14 storeys and Block C would be nine storeys tall, with blocks B and C fused together according to planning documents.

Block A would contain 88 flats, block B – 52 flats and block C  would have 29 flats.

The plan has been submitted by Bracknell Forest Cambium Partnership, a joint venture between the council and housebuilders Countryside.

Redrow and Persimmon homes have applied to build 142 new homes to add to the Jennett’s Park estate near the A329 route into Bracknell.

It will contain a mix of houses, apartments and flat over garage (FOG) homes.

The scheme involves building seven large apartment buildings, which would contain the majority, 125, of the new homes.

The remaining 17 homes would be split into 13 houses and four FOGs.

Built near the A329, a large 251 car parking spaces would be provided for occupants, with an additional 30 spaces reserved for visitors, with five per cent of these being expandable for disabled users.

Redrow and Persimmon, which are both housebuilders, have said 25 per cent of the development would be affordable.

The owner of Bracknell Football Club, Kayne Steinborn-Busse, has applied for outline permission to build 126 flats at its former stadium in Larges Lane.

The club moved to a stadium in Sandhurst in August.

Now the plan is to build 126 flats contained across three apartment blocks at the old stadium.

If permission is granted, it will be sold to a developer for building to take place.

In April, he said the sale of the ground would be ‘crucial’ to the club’s ambitious plans.
