A GRANDAD has been fitted with a new hip after being knocked down in a hit-and-run outside Tesco in Warfield.

Brian Rushby, 82, was walking near the delivery goods entrance in County Lane at 10.30am on Wednesday, December 1, when he was 'struck by a red car'.

Police said they are investigating the incident which left Brian in hospital needing an operation.
