HOUSEHOLDS in Bracknell have been left without electricity today due to planned power outages.

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks said they have planned power cut today so engineers can safely carry out essential work to electrical equipment.

The power was turned off at 9.30am today (September 30) and is expected to last until 4.30pm.

One of the reasons for the power cut is to improve services to local residents in the RG42 and RG40 postcode area.

SSEN said: "We're sorry for the loss of supply. The reason you're currently without power is a planned outage in the areas listed. We have turned off your electricity supply to allow us to safely carry out essential work to our electrical equipment. By doing this, it'll help us to improve the reliability of our service to you for the future. "

Residents have also received letters about the planned power outage.

If you didn't receive the letter then it is assumed your power has been uninterrupted.
