A new company will be taking over the Bracknell Hilton Hotel which was closed in May.

Village Hotels will take on the 215-bedroom hotel, and are planning to reopen it in 2022.

The company has applied to put car parking enforcement signs in place to warn unauthorised parkers about the fines they could accrue if they are caught.

Elsewhere in Bracknell, two separate homeowners have applied to do loft conversions.

Meanwhile, in Wokingham Borough, developers have supplied details for a 57 bed retirement home in Sonning, and yet another homeowner has applied to turn their loft into habitable  accommodation.

Hotel company Village Hotels is gearing up to take over the Hilton Hotel in Bagshot Road, Bracknell, and is hoping to open in January 2022.

On its website, the company boasts visitors will be able to stay for £75 per night for bed and breakfast, as well as ‘state of the art’ leisure facilities at its other locations across the country. It currently has 32 hotels in its operation.

In preparation for the opening, Village Hotels has applied to install 34 signs in the car park and a CCTV camera to monitor it.

When it closed, the hotel had 215 bedrooms, 10 meeting rooms, 150 parking spaces for guests, a bar and restaurant, a health club and treatment rooms.

Extensive work and loft conversion for home in Binfield (21/00832/FUL)

The owners of 14 Culvercroft Binfield have applied to convert their loft, and build a two storey side and rear extension to their home. 

The first floor of the extension would provide a shower and a toilet.

Meanwhile, the loft conversion would provide two study rooms and an additional shower and toilet. The loft would have two side dormers added to it.

The owners also want to add rooflights and cladding to the front of the house, and a pergola to the rear.

Here, the owners want to convert their loft into a bedroom at their house in 37 White City, Crowthorne.

The occupant of this new bedroom would have an ensuite featuring a shower and a toilet.

The owners also want to add rear facing roof lights to their home.

Details of plan for 57 bed retirement home in Sonning (Wokingham app 213026)

The developers Arlington Retirement Lifestyles have submitted details for their plan for a 57 bed retirement home on land south of Old Bath Road in Sonning.

The details relate to the appearance of the three buildings included in the plans. Also the landscaping, access and layout of the retirement home is laid out in this application.

According to records, Wokingham Borough Council’s planning committee approved outline plans for the retirement home in March.

Approved plans can be viewed by using planning reference 201833.

Conversion of loft into bedroom in Wokingham (Wokingham app 213026)

The owners of 16 Hazylwood in Wokingham want to convert their loft into a bedroom.

The loft is currently uninhabited.

The owners also want to add a rear dormer, Juliet balcony and three rooflights to the house.

If it is approved, the home would go from a three bedroom property to a four bedroom property.
