A SLICE of Hollywood could be coming to Wokingham this weekend.

That’s because filming for a new BBC and Netflix drama is set to take place in the town centre.

Broad Street will be closed almost all day on Sunday, September 12 to allow for filming of ‘Inside Man’ starring former Doctor Who David Tennant, Spotlight star Stanley Tucci and Dracula actor Dolly Wells.

Councillor Imogen Shepherd DuBey, leader of Wokingham Town Council, told this newspaper the show being filmed was the Steven Moffat-led show.

She said: “They haven’t revealed the details about which actors will be there [on Sunday].

“But several of my colleagues will be turning up in Doctor Who shirts hoping to see David Tennant.

“My suspicion is they will be there very early.

“So many people have said they are going to come and watch!”

A post about the production on the BBC’s website reveals Inside Man is a four-part mini-series that follows “a prisoner on death row in the US, a Vicar in a quiet English town, and a maths teacher trapped in a cellar, as they cross paths in the most unexpected way…”

Husband and wife team Steven Moffat and Sue Vertue, who leads the team of producers at Hartswood Films, say: “We’re a bit stunned, and very excited, at the acting talent we’re managing to assemble for this show.

“[We] Can’t wait to crawl out of our lockdown bunker and get to work.”

The series will premiere on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK and on Netflix outside of the UK and Ireland.
