WOKINGHAM'S live music festival has been confirmed to take place this month, set to take place over the bank holiday weekend.

Wokingham Festival, first set up more than 14 years ago, will be taking place from August 28 to August 30, hosting more than 40 musical acts from across the borough, including both original artists and tribute artists.

Artists confirmed include Wille and the Bandits, Unikque, The Skangsters, Flutatious, The Room, Bruce Juice, Fred’s House, R2-A Tribute to Rush, Zeppelin Kids, The Paradox Twin, Kyros and much more on the festival’s two music stages, the main TradeMark Stage and the Wokingham Music Club Stage.

The event also promises great refereshments, including beer, cider and perry from the Twyford Beer Festival team, and a variety of drinks from The Redan Cocktail Bar.

There will also be a number of food stands and children's entertainment available to revellers.

Stan Hetherington - who runs the festival as well as the Wokingham Music Club explained :‘The festival is run by a team of enthusiastic and hard working volunteers from the local area and we all share a passion for quality live music in a friendly, enjoyable atmosphere.

"This isn’t Reading Festival; we can’t do what they do.

"We only charge low prices for tickets but we deliver stages much bigger than we should be able to because of our volunteers and the community spirit which is also helped by the great support from Wokingham Borough Council."
