Plans for new homes and replacement homes are among the latest planning applications submitted to our local authorities recently.

The biggest of these in the last week is a scheme to build four big new houses in Crowthorne.

In Finchampstead, the owners of the Grade II listed Shepperlands Cottage have applied to build a substantial extension to their house.

And in Earley, part of Wokingham Borough, applicants want to replace at two-bedroom bungalow with a larger four-bedroom, two storey house.

Plan for four big new houses in Crowthorne (21/00706/OBS)

Here, the applicant is hoping to build four big new homes off Old Wokingham Road, located to the south west of the its T junction with Nine Mile Ride on the edge of Crowthorne.

Of those, two would be four-bedroom houses and two would be five-bedroom houses.

Each of the homes would have a detached garage with space for two cars, according to block plans submitted as part of the application.

Extension to Grade II listed home in Finchampstead (Wokingham app: 212392)

The owners of Shepperlands Cottage want to build a rear extension to the home with roof accommodation providing one extra bedroom.

This would be built in the place of a current rear extension, which appears to provide access to the garden.

The extension would be substantial, providing a new kitchen and family room and utility room on the ground floor, with a master bedroom with an ensuite on the first floor.

Shepperlands Cottage is Grade II listed. According to Historic England, the cottage dates back to the 17th Century, with alterations made in the last century.

Replacement of bungalow with new four bedroom home in Earley (Wokingham app: 212288)

Here, the applicants want to replace the existing two-bedroomed roofed bungalow with a new four-bedroom house in Earley.

The existing home is located at the junction of Culver Lane and Anderson Avenue.

The new home would similarly be built out of brick, and would be roofed with two storeys. Two of the four bedrooms would be ensuite, and a double garage would be provided.

The current home has two bedrooms, a separate lounge and kitchen and one bathroom.

Conversion of flat into offices for school in Woodley (Wokingham app: 212165)

Here, Rivermead Primary School wants to convert a vacant three-bedroom first floor flat within the school building into offices.

The three bedrooms would be turned into offices, and the current living room would be turned into a staff room.

The kitchen and bathroom of the flat would be retained for staff purposes.

There would be no external changes to the building.

New stables for county polo club in Winkfield (21/00544/FUL)

The Royal Berkshire Polo Club wants to replace its stables with new ones at the club site in Winkfield.

The club has said that the current stables are ageing and that they are in an inconvenient place close to the club’s car park.

The replacement stables would house 16 horses and have a feed room and a tack room. It would also be relocated to the south west of the club site so that polo ponies are kept away from the car parking area.
