Monika Taplin, Warfield resident, has been running and cycling around Warfield and Bracknell in different funny costumes to raise funds for youth mental health charity 'Youthline'.

So far she has raised more than £3,000 for the charity.

Bracknell News:

On Sunday, June 20, Easthampstead Rotary Club joined Mrs Taplin and her friends on a costume parade run in Bracknell, travelling through The Lexicon and up to Portman Close, outside Youthline's main hub.

The date was originally chosen to mark the end of Mrs Taplin's lockdown runs, however the four-week delay of total lockdown restrictions means that this will not be her final fundraising run - not until July 19, she told The News.

She said: "I want to help today’s generation of teenagers find themselves and be the great people of tomorrow we know they can be.

"So, I'm challenging myself and all of you to help, participate or contribute by running and cycling to raise awareness and money for Youthline who provide excellent support for the mental wellbeing of teenagers and parents."

Since starting on February 1, Monika has raised a total of £3,494 to date, across a total of 184 different supporters.

She added: "By helping others and spreading this kindness I am helping my own mental wellbeing as it makes me very happy knowing that I am making a positive difference.

"If I can put a smile on your face, raise as much money for this great charity as possible and reduce the waiting time for even one person, then that would be amazing!

"But I cannot do this without your kindness and donations, any amount helps.

"I know this is a very challenging time for us all, mentally, physically and financially, so please look after yourself too and make sure you find someone to talk to, as our children need us more than ever now."
