BAD NEWS, readers - it looks like this weekend (and the week following) is meant to have some pretty grim weather.

Best case scenario is that this weekend's weather (June 19/20) will be a mix of cloudy and light rain (according to Met Office), and the worst case scenario seems to be just good old-fashioned rain (according to The Weather Channel).

Either way, it hardly compares to the two weeks of sunny weather we have just experienced in Reading and Bracknell.

2. The Look Out Discovery Centre, Bracknell

3. Living Rainforest, Thatcham

The Living Rainforest,  based just outside of Thatcham, is an experience for all ages - as the name suggests, the site is essentally a beautiful microcosm for tropical wildlife for residents of all ages to discover. 

Warm, indoors, and filled to the treetops with exotic flora and fauna. Cool stuff.

4. Hollywood Bowl, Bracknell

Hollywood Bowl, beside The Peel Centre, Bracknell, provides the classic family fun activity of 10-pin bowling.

As well as the lanes, the company offers residents food and drinks, and are currently offering discounts to residents booking during the half-term.

One TripAdvisor comment read: "It’s a bit dated but kept clean and tidy and if you knew the area I guess that’s part of the appeal.

"The prices are competitive and it’s easy to book online and pre-order drinks at the same time, staff from reception to the person serving snacks and drinks can’t do enough for you.

5. Escape Hunt, Reading
