BRACKNELL'S very own Miss England Finalist has been campaigning to keep beaches clean from litter following the Bank Holiday weekend.

Alina Green from Priestwood won the equivalent of the Miss England title after the prestigious beauty pageant was changed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

She said she often litter picks on the beaches in Dorset as part of her work with We Do Ethical, a charity who are trying to save the planet by planting trees.

She went on to explain: "It's nice to be back to the new normal, we have beautiful clean beaches here in Dorset! I often litter pick here with We do ethical who's charity planets trees to save carbon emissions, I am a Army officer cadet and I have just finished my University final so now is the time to relax and soak up the sun."

Along with taking part in a traditional catwalk style contest, every contestant must raise funds and raise awareness for Beauty with a Purpose, arrange sponsored gifts to donate to charity, take part in a creative ECO fashion round, compete in a sports round, complete a general knowledge quiz and take part in a beach beauty shoot.

Alina said: "The competition has now been postponed for the third time until August, but I am still keen and seeing the sun makes anything seem possible."
