A TEENAGE boy suffered a serious injury as he was attacked outside a supermarket.

The assault happened near the Tesco superstore in Brooks Road in Lewes on Friday, May 7, and police were called to the scene shortly before 9pm.

The 16-year-old victim had to be taken to hospital following the attack.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and has been released on bail while enquiries continue.

Two other boys aged 17 and 15 were arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and have also been bailed.

Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed what happened or may have relevant footage of the incident to come forward.
