ROAD offences are pretty common in Magistrates Courts, with a range of crimes heard by judges.

One such offence is driving on a road or a public place without third party insurance.

If defendants are found guilty of this offence, they can face hefty fines, be given points on their licence or be banned from driving.

Here are five people from Berkshire caught driving without third party insurance.

John Richardson, of Brownfield Gardens, Maidenhead, pleaded guilty to using a motor vehicle on a road without third party insurance in Maidenhead in October 2020.

The 32-year-old was caught riding an electric scooter on a public road.

He appeared at Slough Magistrates Court in January 2021.

Phillip Haines, resident of Atherton Crescent, Hungerford, was fined £80 and told to pay an extra £124 in costs after he was caught driving without insurance.

The 42-year-old was driving in Thatcham at the time he was caught.

He appeared at Wycombe Magistrates Court in April.

Delroy Rose, who is 23, was told to pay £239 in fines and costs after being caught without driving insurance in July 2020.

The Slough man, of Mead Avenue, was caught out in Maidenhead in a Vauxhall Insignia.

He appeared at Slough Magistrates Court in March, where he was also given six points on his licence.

Philip Carter, of Yorktown Road, Sandhurst, drove a Vauxhall Crosslander in Wokingham without insurance in August 2020.

For this, he was fined £180 and told to pay costs of £85.

The 60-year-old appeared at Reading Magistrates Court in January, where he was also banned from driving for three months.

Myron Davis also got caught out on Portman Road, Reading, in September 2020.

The 35-year-old paid £660 in fines and £90 in costs for their failure to gain third party insurance.

Davis, of Jubilee Square, Reading, appeared at Oxford Magistrates Court in April, where he was handed six points on his licence.
