Kirsty, animal acupuncturist from Basingstoke, said: “It’s fantastic to finally open Vets4Pets Bracknell and offer something unique the pets across the region, it really is a dream come true for me.

“Acupuncture is an age-old healing practice of traditional Chinese medicine in which thin needles are placed at specific points in the body, but has only been practiced on pets from the late 1980s.

“It's primarily used to relieve pain but also has been used to treat other conditions; indeed, I’ve seen the positive effects on dogs with epilepsy and even a cat with Key Gaskell Syndrome.

“The Covid-19 pandemic has been tough on everyone and while it’s a challenge to open a new business under these circumstances, there are thousands of pets and their owners who need support and care.

“As a practice we’re committed to keeping pet owners and our colleagues protected and we have services available to make it easier to care for all pets during this time.

“All these services are listed on our website and we’ll be sharing general advice over the next few weeks on our Facebook page.”

The practice will be on hand to support pets across a wide range of services including complex surgical procedures such as orthopaedics, all the while ensuring current industry advice around essential care is adhered to.

Dog owner, Miss Smith from Bracknell, is delighted the new practice has opened for her dog called Poppy.

She said: “It’s fantastic that Bracknell has an experienced vet coming to look after our pets, and one who can deliver such an interesting type of treatment.

“I know my dog Poppy is already looking forward to her first visit to Vets4Pets Bracknell, and hopefully we’ll be able to hear how we can safely start to visit our favourite walks, as lockdown eases.”
