Gas works at the Palms Hills Estate in Bracknell are among planning applications lodged to council in the past week.

And neighbours in Bracknell Forest have been invited to comment on a plan to build 40 new retirement homes in Sunningdale.

Application to adjust underground gas vents at Palm Hills Estate in Bracknell (21/00287/FUL)

The Shanley Homes development company has applied to conduct adjustments to underground gas vents at the Palms Hills Estate in Bracknell.

The work would involve installing a gas barrier to the north of the site, with the majority of the work being conducted underground.

The work forms part of a much larger plan to develop the Palms Hills Estate in London Road.

The applicant Shanley Homes applied to build 81 homes in the grounds of estate, which was rejected by Bracknell Forest Council’s planning committee on November 16, 2020.

However, Shanley Homes has appealed the refusal.

Planning documents state that Shanley Homes is eager to conduct the work, as any future plan for homes would require the underground gas improvements.

Conversion of Summerhouse into home for full-time carer in Warfield (21/00275/FUL)

The owner of Nestings in Jigs Lane North, Warfield, has applied to convert their Summerhouse into a residence for their full-time carer.

Nestings is currently the site of a home, various portacabins and shipping containers.

The owner is seeking to convert the Summerhouse into a residence for their full-time carer.

The owner has to apply for change of use, as the Summerhouse was originally approved for construction in 2009 on the condition that it could only be used by the current owners, and would not be used as a separate home for someone else.

They are now seeking to change this condition so the owner’s carer can use the Summerhouse as a home.

Conversion of garage into accommodation in Warfield (21/00266/FUL)

The owner of 53 Top Common, Warfield, has applied to convert their L shaped garage into accommodation.

This would involve insulating the walls and floors to make the garage habitable, removing the garage doors and replacing them with double extended doors with windows.

The applicant is also seeking to replace the current strip lights in the garage with more efficient LED lighting.

Extension to home in Warfield (21/00360/FUL)

The owners of 2 Hebbecastle Down in Warfield is seeking to make a substantial extension to their home, adding a two storey extension.

40 new retirement apartments in Sunningdale (21/00362/OBS)

Bracknell Forest Council’s planning team has been asked for its views about a plan for 40 new retirement apartments at Stone Court and Stone Court Cottage in London Road, Sunningdale.

Stone Court is actually located in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM), but neighbours have been invited to comment on the plan on the RBWM planning portal by Adrien Waite, the Royal Borough’s Head of Planning.

To comment on the plan, neighbours and interested parties must use RBWM’s planning site, using reference 21/00621.
