THE council has received an additional £259,000 from the government to improve the air quality in Wokingham.
The Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) has provided the funding so the council, working alongside the Public Protection Partnership (PPP), can work towards becoming carbon-neutral by 2030.

The council, which has declared a climate emergency, is planning to fund anti-idling projects and focus on reducing air pollution around schools in Wokingham.
Clare Lawrence, assistant director for place at Wokingham Borough Council, said: “We are thrilled to be working with our neighbouring authorities through PPP to improve air quality in the local area.
"We are committed to promoting a clean and healthy borough and we welcome help and guidance from the PPP to enable this.
“We can all play our part in improving the air quality across our borough.
