SHOPPERS desperate for a spending spree will be able to return to their favourite shops on Monday as lockdown restrictions ease in Bracknell.

Strict health and safety measures have been put in place in The Lexicon, Bracknell Forest to keep shoppers safe, which all customers will have to adhere to as social distancing is maintained.

'Essential stores' such as Boots, Holland & Barrett, Marks And Spencer, Specsavers, Subway (Takeaway only), Superdrug and more have remained open since lockdown, and now other retailers will be joining them.

Cllr Marc Brunel-Walker, Executive Member for Economic Development and Regeneration said: “It’s been really exciting to see businesses prepare for reopening. It’s an extremely important time for our residents and businesses and I can’t wait for the borough to come alive again after lockdown.

“The Lexicon and the council have worked incredibly hard to put measures in place to help keep you safe. Please follow the signage and be kind as you shop. Let’s support our businesses as they recover from the pandemic.”

The Lexicon’s core opening hours are Monday – Saturday, 9am – 6pm and Sunday, 11am – 5pm but customers should also check opening hours with individual retailers and restaurants before travelling. All al fresco dining at restaurants must be booked in advance.

Town centre facilities including toilets, and the Changing Places facility will also be open during these hours, with social distancing measures and increased cleaning being carried out.

All car parks will be open, with visitors asked to park with space around them where possible and to be conscious of others while getting in and out of cars.
