EIGHT flats could be built at the site of a former Indian restaurant in Crowthorne.

That’s one of a number of interesting planning applications submitted to Bracknell Forest Council recently.

This is applicant Neil De-Mendonca’s sixth attempt at converting the Indian eatery, which closed around 2016 and has already been demolished.

The proposer’s most recent application -- to house ten flats in one building at the site -- was refused in October 2020 after council planning chiefs ruled the development would be ‘detrimental to the character of the area’, ‘cramped’ and ‘unsafe’ from an access point of view.

But now the applicant has come back with revised plans for two fewer flats compared to the last scheme.

This is still three more flats, however, than was proposed in 2017 when the applicant gained planning permission to build five flats at the site.

Six new homes in Winkfield Row (21/00128/FUL)

Land east of Ronans Lodge could be home to six new dwellings if planners get their way.

The new homes would go up on grassland historically used for grazing horses, according to new plans submitted by Winkfield Developers Ltd.

If approved, the site would be accessed from Chavey Down Road, which will be widened and enhanced ‘as necessary.’

Few details are given, however, other than all the trees earmarked for felling are protected.

As with the applications above, this plan is pending consideration from Bracknell Forest Council.
