PEOPLE in Reading and Bracknell woke up to a snowy scene just a few weekends ago and many ventured outside in the cold to build snowmen and enjoy some sledding.

But is there any snow forecast for the next few weeks?

We asked the Met Office whether there is any likelihood of snow across Reading and Bracknell in the coming weeks.

Grahame Madge is a Met Office spokesman.

Speaking yesterday, he said: “The outlook for the southern half of the UK remains unsettled.

"In the next few days, there is the potential for heavy rain and wind to affect parts of the south east, including Berkshire.

"However, from the weekend, temperatures will begin to fall away from the current above average temperatures as an easterly air stream begins to grip the UK.

"This will bring clearer conditions, with the prospect of sunny spells next week, but with the easterly flow there is a chance of wintry showers and ice patches forming in the clear skies overnight.

"It is likely that this pattern will be established for some time, possibly well into next week and beyond.”
