Many classic comedies like Elf and Home Alone appeared, with some sweet holiday rom coms like Love Actually and classics such as It's A Wonderful Life and A Christmas Carol being among the common answers.

Here's what else you had to say:

Kelly Doe's favourite is Jingle all the way, while Jan Ciepkiewicz opted for 'controversial' Christmas film Die Hard.

But Jan wasn't alone, with Tracey Paine, Stephen Webb, Katie Coulson, Spencer Matthews, Vicky Clarke and Boris Coster choosing the action movie.

The Polar Express was also a popular choice, with Kayleigh Jade Beamond and Hazel Radcliffe answering with this nostalgic animation.

Hilarious 2003 comedy Elf was picked by Amy Timms, Shirey Cheyney, Mouna Redaoui.

The Santa Clause was another popular choice, with Catherine Vickery and Carla Hughes siting it as the best film.

Both Amy Louise and Andy Orchard responded: "Santa Clause the Movie with Dudley Moor".

The more traditional Christmas fans went for variations of A Christmas Carol.

Both Louside Smith and Wendy Trenerry said The Muppets Christmas Carol, while Audrey Memmott said: "A Christmas Carol with Alistair Simms."

There weren't as many votes for Home Alone as we had expected, with only Bong Likita and Fiona Dacey choosing the classic.

Christmas with the Kranks also came up a lot, with Emily Mase and Debbie Ferrari replying with the family comedy.

Feel-good 40s films It's a Wonderful was chosen by Julie Parfett, Lucie Williams and denise Harrison.

Other choices included Love Actually (Grace Procter), Arthur Christmas (Dave Landrey), Miracle of 34th Street (David Paterson), The Wizard of Oz (Lyn Daynes), Great Escape (Andrew Matthews) Life of Brian (Rob Mitchell) and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (Holly George).

So there you have it, DIE HARD was the most common answer.

To be honest, we are a bit upset that nobody chose The Holiday.
