HOME ALONE, Love Actually, and Elf are just a few of many festive favourites being shown at a local drive-in cinema this Christmas.

A magical line-up of movies is scheduled to play out for families at Ascot Racecourse.

It is said to be keeping the Christmas spirit alive with the treat for film-lovers from the safety of their own cars.

The Luna Cinema founder George Wood said: “For me Christmas has always been about coming together with your loved ones to celebrate and classic Christmas film has always been a huge part of that.

"Nothing puts you in the Festive spirit more than your favourite movie – I know each year I always say I don’t feel it’s Christmas until I’ve watched Home Alone.

"In a year where many of us have been apart, we need the collective feeling that Christmas creates more than ever before, and we think we’ve come up with the perfect solution."

Bracknell News:

The drive-in cinema at Ascot Racecourse will run from December 9 through to December 21. Showings include Elf, The Holiday, Home Alone, Die Hard, Love Actually, The Snowman, The Gruffalo, The Polar Express, Home Alone 2, Frozen 2, The Greatest Showman, Last Christmas, Frozen, and It's a Wonderful Life.

Film fans will be able to park up and with their own personal wireless speaker you can listen to the film from inside your car - without the radio running and risks of draining car batteries.

The Lune Cinema said there will also be Christmas-themed food and drinks available to pre-order with tickets, or order from your car on the night using a smart phone.

Timings vary from afternoon showings to evening showings, and ticket prices are around £35 for a standard car ticket with two occupants - additional tickets for extra occupants are £5.

Mr Wood added: "Whilst Christmas might be a little different this year, the feeling our line-up of festive classics, new and old, brings remains unchanged.

"We’ve also managed to make every aspect of the experience fully compliant with social distancing from start to finish, and if the weather outside is looking frightful, there is no need to worry as you can relax and cosy up in your cars.”
