AN ATTEMPTED robbery of a 14 year old boy in Wokingham has led to police seeking witnesses.

The incident took place on Monday, November 9 at around 5.20pm on Broad Street, Wokingham.

A male, followed by a group of about four other people, shouted at the victim to give them his phone.

Before he was able to run away, he was hit on the back of his head.

Although nothing was stolen during the attack, the victim sustained reddening and a lump to the back of his head which did not require hospital treatment.

Following the attack, an 18 year old man from Bracknell was arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery, and has since been released on police bail until December 7.

Investigating officer PC Victoria McNicholas, of the Priority Crime Team based at Loddon Valley police station, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident or anyone who has any information which may assist our investigation.”
