Case numbers have fallen in Reading for the first time in two months, while they have rocketed in Wokingham, going up by almost 100 compared to the previous week.

Wokingham now has more cases in the last week than in Reading, according to the latest figures, two weeks into lockdown 2.0.

Here is a look at the latest case numbers, as well as how case numbers have changed over the last two months (September 30 – November 10) in Reading, Wokingham, West Berkshire and Bracknell.

Covid cases in the last two weeks

In the most recent week with full data (November 4-10) in Reading, there were 234 cases, a rate of 144.6 per 100,000 people.

This compares to 250 in the previous week and is the first drop in case numbers in Reading borough since late September.

In comparison, Wokingham had 251 cases in the most recent week, which gives it a rate of 146.7 and is a huge increase from the week before, when there were 159 cases.

Cases in the most recent week (November 4-10), were as follows:

• Bracknell: 152

Before this week, the last time Wokingham had more cases than Reading was in late September.

In West Berkshire, there were 195 cases in the last seven days – with a rate of 123.1 – up from 166 cases in the previous week.

There has also been an increase in Bracknell, with 152 cases in the last week and a rate of 124 per 100,000 over the seven days, compared to 126 cases the week before.

Reading started the first week of September with the most cases, with Bracknell just behind.

Figures fell in all four areas except Bracknell.

This week had the lowest number of cases of any week in the last two months, with 64 cases across the four authority areas.

Additionally, Wokingham’s cases have surpassed Reading’s for the first time in six weeks (since September 23-29).

In Bracknell, after an encouraging drop in cases last week, case numbers have gone up again, while West Berks figures remain on an upward trajectory.
