A FORMER teacher for a Bracknell secondary school has been found guilty of child sex offences, including attempted rape, in court yesterday.

Graham Tattersall, aged 68, of Church Street, Windsor, was convicted by unanimous jury of a string of child sex offences in Reading Crown Court on October 30.

Tattersall, a former teacher at Garth Hill School, Bracknell, was convicted of one count of attempted rape, seven counts of indecent assault and four counts of indecency with a child, following a seven-day long trial.

He was first charged with the offences, which took place between 1979 and 1991, during his time working as a teacher for the school, on January 17.

The charge came after one of his victims contacted Thames Valley Police in 2017, causing a number of other victims to also come forward, all of which were aged between 12 and 16 years old at the time of the attack.

A spokesman for the Thames Valley Police said: "Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, a man has been convicted of a number of non-recent sex offences against children in Bracknell.

"Graham Tattersall, aged 68, of Church Street, Windsor, was found guilty by unanimous jury verdict of one count of attempted rape, seven counts of indecent assault and four counts of indecency with a child in a trial lasting seven days at Reading Crown Court.

"He was found not guilty of one count of rape.
