Conservative MP's have blocked plans to extend free school meals to millions of children across the UK.

MPs have voted against Labour's motion to extend free school meals over school holidays until Easter 2021.

The Labour motion was defeated by a majority of 61 with 322 votes to 261.

But how did Bracknell's MP vote in the bill?

James Sunderland was one of many Tory MP's who voted against giving free school meals to hungry children.

Alongside this in neighbouring town Wokingham, John Redwood also voted no.

England football star Marcus Rashford vowed to keep campaigning to extend free school meals over the holidays after MPs voted against the measure.

He told politicians to "stop stigmatising, judging and pointing fingers" as he warned a "significant number" of children will go to bed hungry and "feeling like they do not matter" because of comments on Wednesday, October 21.

Downing Street ruled out performing a late U-turn ahead of the vote, with Prime Minister Boris Johnson telling MPs that support will continue for children on low incomes.

"We will continue to use the benefits system and all the systems of income to support children throughout the holidays as well," he added.
