COUNCILLORS attended a local greengrocer's official opening in Earley, to cut the ribbon to the new site.

Cllrs David Hare, Tahir Maher and Andrew Mickleburgh attended the opening of the new fruit, vegetable and halal butchery shop on Silverdale Road, Earley, this past weekend.

Cllr Hare was chosen to cut the ribbon to 'Fad', which officially opened on Saturday, September 19.

Cllr David Hare said: β€œIt is wonderful that you have chosen to invest within our local community.

"People have also told me how much they have been looking forward to shopping with you.”

Business owner Fadi claims that the paperwork necessary to include a post office within the business has been completed, and is now awaiting response.

He said: β€œI have been truly humbled by the many messages of goodwill received from residents.

"My dream of opening this type of business to serve people where I live has now finally come true.

"I am trying hard to get the post office open as soon as possible.

"In the meantime, I look forward to meeting even more of our residents, who will all receive a very warm welcome!
