FOLLOWING a sold out five-week run at the West End’s Garrick Theatre, comedy legend Frank Skinner is adding extra dates to his latest UK tour and bringing his critically acclaimed stand-up show Showbiz to Reading for one night only.

Because of the coronavirus outbreak, much of Showbiz had to be rescheduled to 2021 - and Frank will be bringing the show to The Hexagon on Friday, January 15, instead of its original date on November 6 this year.

Prior to his west end triumph, the twelve months before the pandemic have seen Frank perform sold-out runs at London’s Leicester Square Theatre, the Edinburgh fringe, and a 45-date national UK tour.

Showbiz has been described as a “beautifully confessional new show” and “possibly his best show yet” by the Sunday Times.

The Guardian added: “Skinner is warm, impeccable company and his way with a punchline is still masterful… there are numerous brilliant moments… an evening in Skinner’s company is a delight.”

Frank’s live career began in 1987 when he spent £400 of his last £435 booking a room at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Four years later in 1991 he returned to the Scottish city and took home comedy’s most prestigious prize, The Perrier Award.

He went on to create The Frank Skinner Show on ITV and with David Baddiel, he created and presented Fantasy Football and Baddiel and Skinner Unplanned.

The pair also famously wrote seminal football anthem Three Lions.

More recently and the 63-year-old has hosted BB1’s Room 101 and seven series’ of Portrait/Landscape Artist of the Year for Sky Arts.

He also maintains a weekly show on Absolute Radio and launched Frank Skinner’s Poetry Podcast.

But Frank hasn’t been dubbed “the king of stand-up” (by the Evening Standard) for nothing - and comedy fans will get to see why when he brings Showbiz to The Hexagon early next year.
