1. Kennet School has one positive confirmation for Covid-19
A STUDENT at a Thatcham school has tested positive for Covid-19, just days after schools reopened.
Pupils who had come into contact with the student will not be coming into school for the next two weeks, according to a message sent to those attending the Stoney Lane secondary school.

2. Reading's most common crime
POLICE data has revealed Reading's most commonly reported crime.
Using figures throughout a 12-month period, (August 2019 - July 2020), violence and sexual offences has been shown as the most common crime reported.
During this period, 1,778 cases were reported to police in the central Reading area.

3. Thames Valley Police issue alert to residents following burglaries to sheds in West Reading
BURGLARS have targeted sheds and garages in the West Reading area over the past week prompting police to issue an alert to the public.
Thames Valley Police said there have been a number of sheds and garages broken into in the past week and items such as bikes have been stolen.

4. West Berkshire Council responds to school Covid outbreak
THE council has responded after it was revealed that a Thatcham school pupil had tested positive for Covid-19.
Kennet School confirmed today (September 10) that a student has contracted the virus just days after schools reopened.

5. Reading's Wokingham Road blocked off by emergency services following crash
EMERGENCY services were called to Wokingham Road late yesterday evening following a crash.
Eye witnesses at the scene said there was a crash between a motorcyclist and a car outside Smokeys House in Reading.
