YOUNG winners of the Wokingham animal trail event were awarded prizes by the town mayor recently.
Local children were invited to go on a bear hunt in Buckhurst Meadows nature reserve, Wokingham, throughout the school holidays, with the intention of allowing local children to explore the area with a fun activity.
Holly Gigg, Sean Doran and Nia Beckett were awarded giftcards by Mayor Malcolm Richards, whilst Amber Gigg, Thomas Goswell, Sylvia Doran, Eloise Baddeley, and Oliver Baddeley were also welcomed by the Mayor for their efforts.

Cllr Richards said: “The children enjoy these events which encourage them to get out in the fresh air, encourages exercise, enjoy the new meadows and have fun at the same time."
The event was organised by the Wokingham Borough Council and the My Journey organisation, and was sponsored by David Wilson Homes.
Participants were encouraged to search for pictures of animals places across the site, and post their entries online.
Winners were then selected at random, to receive a gift card.

"We’d like to thank Cllr Richards for taking the time to visit Montague Park to hand out the prizes, and we hope everyone who took part enjoyed the activity."
