It will give locals the opportunity to find out what life is like at Bracknell’s newest care home.

Erika Smith, home manager at Bickerton House, said: "The team at Bickerton House is really looking forward to welcoming the community through our doors for the first time in many months. We are proud of the environment that has been created, and every last detail here has been considered to create a high-quality, luxury care home which will enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives.

Members of the public are invited to book an appointment to take a tour around one of the care home suites.

To ensure the safety of visitors and residents, the tour will take place on one of the currently empty suites within the home, there will be temperature checks on arrival, and all touch points will be cleaned thoroughly between each visit.

The home provides nursing and dementia care for up to 77 residents.

Erika added: “We’ve taken all the necessary steps to ensure our open days will be as safe as possible, by offering appointments to tour one of the currently empty suites within the home, and allowing plenty of space between booking slots so the home can be cleaned throughout the day and following the social distancing guidelines.

“The open days will give visitors the chance to see the care home for themselves, while getting an insight into what day-to-day life is like at Bickerton House. They can also find out more about the kind of activities that will be on offer, our cuisine and much more.”

The home will also be hosting open days on Friday 25th, Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th September.

The purpose-built care home has been designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence. The home provides full-time residential, nursing and specialist dementia care, and incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities, including its own cinema, hair salon and café.
