MIDWIVES at Frimley Park Hospital are fundraising for a very important reason.

Women who are experiencing baby loss at Frimley Park Hospital will be looked after in The Rowan Suite.

This room is used by specialist bereavement midwives for parents going through the most difficult time after losing a baby.

However, the suite is right next to the maternity ward making it 'heartbreaking' for women to hear mother's going through labour and babies first cries.

A fundraising page has been set up by the bereavement midwives to raise £1,000 to make the suite better.

The page said: "The suite is next to the labour ward, it has to be for practical reasons, but this does mean that you do run the risk of hearing other mums in labour and also hearing those first new born cries, which can be heart breaking to hear.

"The Suite requires some enhancements to make it as pleasant a place as possible for the parents who are in there, two things that will help this are air conditioning and sound proofing, two things you won't immediately notice but would be very grateful for, so this is what we are fundraising for and as soon as we reach our target the hospital are ready to carry out the work."

Luckily, the fundraising page has surpassed the target and has raised more than £1,500.
