CARE HOME residents enjoyed a virtual tour of the town hall last week, guided by the Wokingham Town mayor, and followed by afternoon tea over the internet.
Residents at The Berkshire Care Home on Barkham Road, Wokingham, enjoyed the virtual presence of the town mayor and mayoress recently, who showed them a tour of the town hall over the Zoom app.

The tour included viewing the Main Hall, the Annexe, and the council chamber, as well as a discussion of the hall's history over tea and a cupcake, delivered to the care home by the mayor, at the end.
Cllr Tony Lack and his wife mayoress Claire Lack called the Berkshire Care Home at the end of last month, June 29.

Resident Michael Mace said, “I was honoured to meet the Mayor and Mayoress who kindly took us on a tour around the Town Hall which I’ve never visited before.
"They showed us all their special regalia and we even had afternoon tea with them through the screen – isn’t technology wonderful!"
