A 'BEAUTIFUL' butterfly mural has been revealed in the town centre with a positive message behind it and you can get involved too.

Students at Bracknell and Wokingham College have worked hard to design a display which will uplift the community and spread an important message to shoppers.

The Lexicon unveiled its new Butterfly display in Princess Square on Wednesday, July 8 with a special 'Be Kind' message, inspired by the online social media campaign.

Sue Boor, head of marketing at The Lexicon, said: "Our new mural has really brought our Beautiful Butterflies activity to life. The students at Bracknell and Wokingham College have worked so hard to bring this special ‘Be Kind’ message, and timely reminder to the town centre!

“We were delighted that so many people took part in our online Butterfly lockdown activity, sharing their own artwork creations, so also decided to dedicate a unit in Princess Square to display everyone’s wonderful entries. The room will be open on weekdays (11am-3pm) for visitors to The Lexicon to enjoy.”

In a bid to spread positivity, shoppers can take a selfie and share it with the hashtag #thelexiconbutterflies to be in with a chance of winning one of three The Lexicon gift cards, worth £40.

All you need to do is take a photo next to the wall and post it on social media.

Ms Boor added: “We are really excited to see everyone enjoying this new piece of community art.

“We would ask our customers coming to see the mural to respect other visitors, observe social distancing markings and perhaps return later, if the selfie spots are busy. This really is a space for everyone to enjoy!”
