SOCIALLY-DISTANCED sports are coming back to the borough, following Wokingham council announcements on how residents should safely use the spaces provided.

The announcement was made yesterday evening by the Wokingham Borough Council that Cantley Park will be reopening for sports activities.

Although the council never closed the park to the public, organisations that use the facilities are now starting to slowly return.

GDT Tennis, the organisation that runs the tennis courts on the site, will be making facilities available for four players to use at a time. Children's tennis groups will not be resuming at this stage, in order to maintain social distancing measures.

Similarly, the archery club Bowmen of Burleigh has announced it's plans to reopen limited shooting sessions at Cantley Park, which can be booked by members through their website.

Hockey is also expected to slowly return. For more information on this email n.king@ntlworld.com.
