A COFFEE and cocktail bar in Caversham has launched an online delivery service and is teaching people how to make their own cocktails in lockdown.

Tipsy Bean on Prospect Street, Caversham, has temporarily closed due to the coronavirus lockdown but co-owners Dan Smith and Tom Richards have launched an online delivery service for customers.

The coffee and cocktail bar’s website now sells various items online such as home brewing equipment, coffee beans, homemade cold brews, syrup for coffees and dehydrated fruit for cocktails.

Tipsy Bean also sells bundles of mix and match soft drinks such as J20 and coke.

Mr Smith said the bar is offering a free delivery service to houses within the RG1, RG4, RG5 and RG6 postcodes.

He added they have been posting on an online blog showing customers how to make cocktails at home and how to use certain items from the shop.

During lockdown, the bar is being redecorated with Mr Smith explaining they hope to modernise the space and make it feel more like a cocktail bar.

There will also be new signage at the front of the bar and new tables and chairs.

Mr Smith and Mr Richards took over the bar in September last year.

Since then, they have introduced various ideas and have launched a knitting club and book club as well as open mic nights.

They have also partnered with Age UK and The Campaign to end Loneliness to launch a club for men over the age of 65 to meet each week and chat with each other.

However, due to lockdown this idea has not yet been launched.
