EMERGENCY services advised Arborfield residents to 'keep doors and windows closed' while they tackled a fire at a flat in the area.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene of the flat, in Howell Close, Arborfield, at around 12pm on Friday, May 22.

Following the announcement that fire crews were on the scene, Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service tweeted at the time: "Our crews are attending a fire at a flat in Howell Close, #Arborfield.
"Please avoid the area if possible, but if you are nearby, keep windows and doors closed."
Crews from Bracknell, Whitley Wood, Wokingham Road, Ascot, Caversham Road, Wokingham and four Officers attended the scene, alongside the Aerial Ladder Platform from Whitley Wood and the Incident Command
Unit from Maidenhead.

It was extinguished by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus, using two hose reel jets and two main jets.
It was announced the fire was extinguished at about 4pm, three and a half hours after the fire and rescue services first arrived at the scene.
