AN ASCOT boy who has been through more than two dozen operations has shown his support for the NHS by delivering a delicious lunch to doctors and nurses. 

Naseem Ali, who is 15-years-old, was born with multiple medical conditions and has undergone 27 operations in his life.

This includes a liver transplant at King’s College Hospital in London.

To show his appreciation for the paediatric team at the hospital, whom Naseem calls his “second family”, the youngster decided to whip up a big lunch for staff on the ward where he was treated.

Naseem said: “I spent the first few years of my life at King’s College hospital and all the staff in the paediatric team have become my second family. 

“I wanted to show my appreciation during this pandemic to the hospital that saved my life by treating them to a delicious lunch!

“I contacted the matron that is in charge of the ward I was treated on and she was absolutely thrilled and truly touched by the idea.” 

Naseem is the son of Sham Ali, who owns Indian takeaway Peppermills in Ascot. 

Sham delivered the delicious takeaway food, which included a range of tasty Indian treats, to King’s College Hospital on Sunday, April 19 .

Naseem added: “Unfortunately, due to the current situation around COVID-19, I was not able to hand-deliver the food myself to the hospital hence why my dad took it as I am classed as a high-risk patient but that did not stop me making the food.

“I helped make a selection of biryanis, chickpeas and pakoras to serve our heroes!”
