WHAT was once a dull and grey looking town has since been transformed into the flourishing shopping destination that it is today.

Bracknell shoppers will have remembered walking through Broadway and the iconic Bandstand as well as trawling through much-loved shops like Bentalls and even Iceland.

But a new and modern town was needed to freshen up the place and in 2012, councillors approved plans for The Lexicon.

The centre cost around £34 million to build and two of the original shops, Boots and WH Smith still stood to this day.
