The following cases appeared at Reading Magistrates’ Court:

February 6:

SONYA MOSS, 45, of Crowfield Drive, Thatcham, admitted stealing a handbag from TK MAXX in Newbury on September 24, 2019. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity and ordered to pay £79.99 compensation. Also ordered to pay £90 victim surcharge.

JAK NORGATE, 21, of London Road, Reading, admitted assault by beating in Reading on December 22, 2019, and admitted obstructing a constable in execution of their duty in Reading on December 22. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity and ordered to pay £90 victim surcharge. Must also pay £85 court costs.

KAYLEY HAINES, 30, of Robert Parker Road, Reading, admitted criminal damage to a door and two bins worth about £300 in Reading on October 22, 2019. Also admitted using threatening or abusive words or behaviour to cause harassment or distress in Reading on October 22, 2019. Also admitted assault by beating in Reading on October 22, 2019. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity and made subject to a restraining order. Also ordered to pay £300 compensation and £90 victim surcharge. Must also pay £85 court costs.

DUMITRU COSOFRET, 23, of Bath Road, Thatcham, admitted using a vehicle without the correct insurance in Cheap Street, Newbury, on January 19, 2020. Fined £50.

TYLER HINKSON, 22, of Norwood Road, Reading, admitted possession of class B drug cannabis in Reading on December 22, 2019. Also admitted commission of a further offence while subject to a suspended sentence for battery, common assault, and criminal damage. Fined £180 and ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge. Must also pay £85 court costs.

RORY KENDRICK, 41, of Sagecroft Road, Thatcham, admitted being drunk and disorderly in public, and admitted commission of a further offence while subject to a suspended sentence for failing to provide a specimen for analysis. Fined £332 and ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge. Must also pay £85 court costs.

GRAHAM PHILLIPS, 60, of Tilney Way, Reading, admitted failing to comply with notification requirements of the sex offenders register in Reading on July 27, 2019. Given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £21 victim surcharge. Must also pay £85 court costs.

PHILLIP RUTA, 32, of Fadworth Road, Reading, admitted harassment by breach of a restraining order by contacted banned subjects in Reading on September 5, 2019. Also admitted using threatening or abusive words of behaviour to cause fear or provoke violence onboard a train between Aldermaston and Reading on September 5, 2019. Also admitted commission of a further offence while subject to a community order. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity and made subject to a restraining order. Also order to pay £90 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

MOHAMMED SHAFIK, 30, of no fixed abode, admitted stealing four bottles of wine worth £37.50 from Marks and Spencer in Reading on January 15, 2020. Given a conditional discharge for six months and ordered to pay £21 victim surcharge.

PHILIP SKELCHER, 42, of Racecourse Road, NEwbury, admitted stealing furniture items worth £1,136.45 from Ikea in Reading on March 19, 2019. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity and ordered to pay £90 victim surcharge.

IBRAHIM OTOLORIN, 33, of Southcote Lane, Reading, admitted drink-driving in Wantage Road, Reading, on October 6, 2019. Found to have 131ml of alcohol in 100ml of blood, the legal limit being 80ml. Also admitted using a vehicle without the correct insurance in Reading on October 16, 2019, and without the correct licence on the same day in Reading. Fined £369 and ordered to pay £36 victim surcharge. Must also pay £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 14 months.

February 7:

KAMRAN LATIF, 41, of no fixed abode, admitted burglary by breaking into Yates in Reading on February 5 and stole bottles of alcohol worth £180. Sentenced to 12 weeks in prison due to previous record. Also ordered to pay £122 victim surcharge.

RODNEY MENDEZ, 50, of no fixed abode, admitted stealing food items worth £24.20 from Sainsbury’s in Thatcham on February 6, 2020. Also admitted stealing alcohol worth £85 from Waitrose in Thatcham on February 6, 2020. Sentenced to prison for four week due to previous record. Also ordered to pay £24.20 compensation and £122 victim surcharge.

ADRIAN KEARSEY, 36, of Bradmore Way, Earley, admitted assault by beating in Shinfield on May 4, 2019. Also admitted £5,000 criminal damage to a moped in Shinfield on May 4, 2020. Given a conditional discharge for six months and ordered to pay £20 victim surcharge. Also ordered to pay £85 court costs and £50 compensation.

SAFRAZ HUSSAIN, 52, of Willow Street, convicted of racially or religiously aggravated fear or provocation of violence by words or writing in Reading on November 18, 2018. Also admitted failing to surrender to custody at Reading Magistrates’ Court having been released on bail on January 10. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity. Fined £250 and ordered to pay £100 compensation. Also ordered to pay £85 victim surcharge and £100 court costs.
