The following cases were heard at Reading Magistrates’ Court:

October 25:

BENJAMIN CRITCHLEY, 33, of Basingstoke Road, Reading, admitted assault by beating in Reading on January 20. Admitted criminal damage to a BMW in Reading on January 20, and drink-driving Usk Road, Reading, on January 20. Found to have 64mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit being 35mcg. Also admitted criminal damage to a front door in Reading on the same date. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity and 80 hours of unpaid work. Also ordered to pay £100 compensation, and £85 victim surcharge. Must also pay £350 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 18 months.

LUCY MCCAFFERTY, 41, of Stirling Way in Thatcham, West Berkshire, admitted stealing petrol worth £15.02 from the BP garage in Newbury on February 8. Admitted stealing petrol and goods worth £31 from BP Garage, Newbury. Given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £46 compensation, plus £20 victim surcharge.

RYAN COX, 40, of St Mary's Avenue, Purley on Thames, Reading, admitted breaching a non-molestation order in Reading on September 19 and September 28. Given a community order including rehabilitation activity requirements and must undertake 100 hours unpaid work. Ordered to pay £90 victim surcharge, and £85 court costs.

BARRY GOSNEY, 31, of no fixed abode, admitted stealing £625 worth of Lacoste clothing from John Lewis in Reading on June 9. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation requirements. Also ordered to pay £85 victim surcharge.

JAMES HEWITT-JONES, 36, of London Road, Newbury, admitted failing to notify the Department for Work and Pensions of a change in circumstances which affect entitlement to support. Admitted failing to notify the local authority of change of circumstances that would've affect entitlement to housing benefit. Also admitted failing to notify the department for work and pensions in a change of circumstance that would affect entitlement to employment support allowance. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity requirements. Also ordered to pay £85 victim surcharge and £300 court costs.

MICHAEL APPLIAN, 30, of Little Street, Reading, convicted travelling on a Great Western Railway service in Thatcham on March 4 without having paid the £6.90 train fare. Fined £220 and ordered to pay £6.90 compensation. Also ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge, plus £160 court costs.

JAMES BAREFIELD, 31, of Rutherford Walk, Tilehurst in Reading, convicted of travelling on a Great Western Railway service in Reading on March 25 without having paid the £8.10 train fare. Fined £330 and ordered to pay £8.10 compensation. Also ordered to pay £160 court costs.

JAS BAREFIELD, 31, of Newtown Road, Newbury, convicted of travelling on a Great Western Railway service in Reading on March 4 without having paid the £9.10 railway fare. Fined £330 and ordered to pay £9.10 compensation. Also ordered to pay £33 victim surcharge and £160 court costs.

MIRABELA CIUCIUC, 32, of Bath Road, Reading, convicted of travelling on a Great Western Railway service in Theale on March 4 without having paid the £3.90 train fare. Fined £220 and ordered to pay £3.90, plus £30 victim surcharge. Must also pay £160 court costs.

GEORGINA KIND, 30, of Green Lane, Reading, convicted of travelling on a Great Western Railway service in Reading on March 20 without having paid the £3.80 train fare. Fined £220 and ordered to pay £3,80 compensation. Must also pay £30 victim surcharge and £160 court costs.

RALPH LEWIS, 34, of Exwick Square, Reading, convicted of travelling on a Great Western Railway service in Reading on March 25 without having paid the £46.50 train fare. Fined £220 and ordered to pay £46.50 compensation. Also ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge and £160 court costs.

SIQI LI, 21, of St Barnabas Road, Reading, convicted of travelling on a Great Western Railway service in Reading on March 23 without having paid the £25.10 train fare. Fined £220 and ordered to pay £25.10 compensation. Also ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge and £160 court costs.

XINREN LIANG, 22, of Church Street, Reading, convicted of travelling on a Great Western Railway service in Reading on March 23 without having paid the £25.10 train fare. Fined £220 and ordered to pay £25.10 compensation. Also ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge and £160 court costs.

DUNCAN MORSE, 48, of Chiltern Drive in Charvil, Reading, convicted of travelling on a Great Western Railway service in Slough on March 7 without having paid the £13.10 train fare. Fined £220 and ordered to pay £13.10 compensation. Also ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge, plus £160 court costs.

DANIEL MATTINGLEY, 38, of Cornwood Gardens, Reading, convicted of travelling on a Great Western Railway service in Maidenhead on March 25 without having paid the £6.70 train fare. Fined £220 and £6.70 compensation. Also ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge, plus £160 court costs.

ESTHER POWELL, 48, of Chiltern Drive, Reading, convicted of travelling on a Great Western Railway service in Slough on March 7 without having paid the £13.10 train fare. Fined £220 and ordered to pay the £13.10 compensation. Also ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge and £160 court costs.

October 29:

CHRISTOPHER BROWN, 31, of Andover Road in Newbury, Berkshire, admitted failing to provide a specimen for analysis when asked to do so in Thatcham on July 12. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity and must undertake 150 hours of unpaid work. Also ordered to pay £90 victim surcharge and £350 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 36months.

SHAUN FENN, 39, of no fixed abode, convicted of being in possession of a quantity of class A drug diamorphine on a First Great Western train in Reading on September 6. Also admitted failing to surrender to custody at Reading Magistrates' Court on September 25 having been released on bail. Fined 150 and ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge.

ZHANE REYNOLDS, 25, of The Green, Beenham, admitted being the person in whose name a vehicle did not meet correct insurance requirements in Ringwood on February 28. Fined £40 and ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge. Must also pay £100 court costs.

ADAM THOMAS, 33, of Windermere Road, Reading, admitted assault by beating in Reading on September 5, and another charge of assault by beating in Reading on September 5. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity requirements and ordered to undertake 60 hours unpaid work. Also ordered to pay £125 compensation and £90 victim surcharge. Must also pay £85 court costs.

BRADLEY ROBERTS, 28, of Anson Crescent, Reading, admitted failing to provide a specimen for analysis as driver of a vehicle in Worthing on November 12, 2018. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation requirements and must carry out 60 hours unpaid work. Also ordered to pay £90 victim surcharge, plus £300 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 17 months.

ROBERT SZYMANSKI, 37, of The Crescent, Earley, convicted of drink-driving on Wokingham Road, Reading, on May 21. Found to have 47mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit being 35mcg. Also admitted driving in Wokingham Road, Reading, without the correct insurance on May 21. Fined £525 and ordered to pay £45 victim surcharge. Also ordered to pay £620 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 14 months.
