DRIVERS are facing delays in Wokingham due to a burst water main.

There are temporary traffic lights in place on Mays Road at the junction of Bean Oak Road.

South East Water is currently carrying out emergency works to repair a burst main.

Works are expected to be completed by 28 January.

Paul Mann, distribution manager at South East Water, said: “We have repaired a three-inch diameter water main which was reported to us yesterday (Wednesday) in Bean Oak Road, Wokingham.

“Tap water supplies were not affected and our contractor is currently restoring the road to its original condition.

“Temporary three-way traffic lights are in operation and we anticipate these will be removed by Saturday morning.

“We apologise for any disruption caused but leaks and bursts like this do happen on our vast network of underground pipes.”
