STAFF at a Shinfield care home have been praised for their 'exceptional care and kindness' following a recent inspection.

Shinfield View Care Home, located on School Green, was rated Outstanding by Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspectors.

The home provides personal care to up to 66 people, which was described as 'highly effective' in the report published last month.

The report reads: "People were treated with exceptional care and kindness.

"They and their relatives thought very highly of the staff and praised their caring, thoughtfulness and willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty for

them.

"The registered manager and staff had created lasting and meaningful relationships with people.

"Those relationships enabled the service to provide excellent care, which achieved highly positive outcomes for people."

The report also stated that people were treated with 'the utmost respect', and said: "People received a truly person-centred service which promoted excellent outcomes for them and which included supporting their independence and having control over their lives.

"People received care and support that was personalised to meet their individual needs."

The rating went up from the last inspection, which was 'Good' in April 2017.

General manager of Shinfield View, Amanda Tanner, said: "I am so unbelievably proud of everyone in the team.

"Thank you to all our staff, residents and relatives for the exceptional feedback we received.

"We'll continue with our hard work and aim to provide the very highest standard of care at all times."
