A PET rabbit, a Vera Wang wedding dress and a SMEG fridge freezer are among the unusual items left behind in Bracknell's branch of Travelodge during the past year.

The hotel chain has revealed some of the strangest things guests have forgotten to take away with them following their stay at one of the 557 hotels across the country.

Other items left at the Bracknell Travelodge include a suitcase full of brightly coloured wigs and a business contract between two 'well known' companies.

Amongst these items has seen a fare share of pets being left behind.

Travelodge has seen a growing trend in forgetful pet owners with one owner staying in Brighton Seafront Travelodge leaving their Blue Eyed Cockatoo called Brexit.

A cat lover also left her two Persian cats behind after they won best of show.

Shakila Ahmed, Travelodge spokeswoman, said: “With nearly 19 million customers annually staying at our 557 UK hotels for a variety of reasons, we do get a range of fascinating items left behind. This year’s audit includes: a brand new ice-cream van, a jilted groom, an amazing Technicolour Dream Coat, a 5ft teddy bear made of popcorn. a blue eyed Cockatoo called Brexit and even a replica of Meghan Markle's wedding dress.

“Interestingly, as we have more business customers staying with us than ever before, we have seen a rise this year in important business papers, valuable items and lucky charms being left behind in our hotels."

The most popular items left behind at the hotel chain is chargers for mobile phones, tablets, mobiles, teddy bears, business papers and notes and drones.
