A GENEROUS scheme has launched where charities can apply for grants within the borough of Bracknell Forest.

The Lexicon in Bracknell announced its Charity Fund on January 6 where charitable causes can apply for funding.

The aim is to help raise money for local causes and projects, by running a campaign in collaboration with the Berkshire Community Foundation.

Sue Boor, head of marketing at The Lexicon, said: “We held a number of charitable events and activities throughout 2019 and are delighted to be able to offer support to charities based in the borough through this new fund.

"I would urge local charities and school PTAs to ensure that they enter before the fund closes in a couple of weeks.”

Grants will be awarded to successful applicants in April 2020.

The maximum grant that can be awarded to any individual charity is £2,000 and the deadline for entries is January 21.

As well as this, the fund will be managed in conjunction with Berkshire Community Foundation, an indepedent charity that connects local people with local causes and projects.

The Lexicon Charity Fund says you can apply for a grant to buy equipment for use by children with special needs or to re-roof a sports club.

In 2018, The Lexicon, supported Bracknell Gymnastics Club through a series of fund raising activities in the town, raising £8,000 for the charity.
