A neighbour who was just about to go to bed described seeing flames and shouted to her partner 'oh my god there's a fire'.

Ian said: "My partner Joanne ran into the bedroom saying 'next door is on fire' and the car was blazing badly so I told her to get out of the house.

"Fire was engulfing the front door so I banged on the family's door next to mine to help get them out. That was the instinct to make everyone safe.

"I couldn't get any closer to the woman's door because it was getting taller and taller. The smoke was horrendous and our house stunk afterwards. I have been out all morning cleaning the car because of the charcoal."
