A CARE home set to open in the New Year has donated more than £200 to help a carer's support charity.

Bickerton House in Warfield Road has presented a cheque of £250 to support Signal4Carers, a charity which provides free support and guidance to all unpaid and non-professional carers in Bracknell.

The care home is set to open in January and is designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while promoting independence.

As well as this, the home will provide full-time residential, nursing and specialist dementia care and will have dedicated areas with its own cinema, hair salon and cafe.

Erika Smith, home manager at Bickerton House, said: “We’re really keen to play our part in supporting our local community, so when we heard about the amazing work Signal4Carers does, we wanted to do what we could to help.

“It was lovely to meet Sharon from Signal4Carers and hear more about the wonderful work the charity does. Our ethos at Bickerton House is to help people live fulfilling lives, and I can see that Signal4Carers has the same values as us, so it is truly an honor to support them.”

Families are invited to look around the care home on January 11 and 12 from 10am to 4pm to learn more about the facilities on offer.

Sharon Bowden, from Signal4Carers, said: “We cannot thank Bickerton House enough for its support, the money will be used to help our cause to continue to support unpaid carers in the Bracknell area.”
