A MAN from Reading is being sought by police after not turning up to court.

Police are searching for Shaun Basden, of no fixed abode, after he failed to appear at Reading Magistrates' Court on November 28.

The 49 year old is known to frequent Whitley in Reading.

He is described by police as white, approximately 6ft tall, and has short hair with a dark grey beard.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police and not approach Mr Basden.

Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant James Jackson, based at Reading police station, said: “I am appealing for the public’s help in locating Basden after he failed to appear at Reading Magistrates’ Court on 28 November.

“I would urge anyone who believes they may have seen him or knows of his whereabouts to contact police.

“If you see Basden, we would ask that members of the public do not approach him, but call police instead.

“You can contact police by calling 101, quoting reference ‘43190372133’.

“Alternatively, if you wish to report anonymously, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
